Kashif’s Journey: Finding Relief from Chronic Pain

When Kashif Imtiaz was just 16 years old, he discovered he had a debilitating disease that would go on to affect his mobility and quality of life for decades to come. As Kashif entered his mid-30s, the disease began to take its toll. Simple tasks like walking became a struggle, and he was constantly in pain. Medications provided temporary relief, but they didn’t address the underlying issue. Kashif’s work and daily life suffered significantly as a result.

The pain in his knees was excruciating, making everyday activities like traveling by bus or sitting on the floor impossible. Even short periods of sitting would leave him in agony. Despite his desperate need for treatment, Kashif couldn’t afford the expensive surgeries quoted to him – PKR 600,000 to 700,000 was a staggering amount that was far beyond his means.

But in 2023, Kashif’s luck changed. He discovered Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) and Project GODA, which offered him the treatment he so desperately needed. After a decade of living with debilitating pain, Kashif finally found relief. He was provided free orthopaedic surgery that allowed him to walk again. Throughout his journey, Kashif’s family was a rock of support. His brothers, sisters, wife, and child stood by him, providing emotional strength and encouragement.

Kashif is overwhelmed with gratitude for IHHN and Project GODA. “I don’t have words to express how great Indus Hospital & Health Network has been to me,” he says, his voice filled with emotion. “They’ve given me a new lease on life, and I’ll be forever grateful.” His heartfelt words echo the sentiments of countless individuals who have benefited from IHHN and Project GODA’s selfless efforts. For those who cannot afford healthcare, the burden of medical expenses can be crushing, exacerbating existing challenges and limiting opportunities. Free healthcare initiatives bridge this gap, providing a lifeline to those in need.

When individuals with disabilities receive the care they deserve, they can regain their independence and confidence. Simple actions, like walking or hearing, become possible again, and the world opens up with new possibilities. This transformation is not just about physical health; it’s also about emotional well-being and social reintegration. You can help make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals like Kashif. Every contribution, whether financial or through volunteering, brings us closer to a more inclusive and compassionate society. His story serves as a powerful reminder to continue supporting and advocating for accessible healthcare, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
